What to Expect:
'I can't draw a straight line!"
"I can't draw a circle!"
"I can't draw a stick figure!"
Creating art is not about drawing a straight line, a perfect circle or a stick figure. Sure, it can be... but it is often far more important to simply create than to create something of importance.
Our evening, "Painting for the Process" is not about the end result, but instead, it's about starting. It's about getting pen to paper, it's about releasing emotions through the stroke of your brush and it's about relaxing instead of overthinking. It's about surrendering the outcome of your painting entirely.
During our evening, you will create an 18" x 24" floral piece to take home at the end of the night. You will experiment with pencil, water-soluble pastel, watercolor and acrylic paints. Laura will guide you, step by step through the creation process and teach you how to start thinking about painting as a meditative process instead of a means to the end.
We will begin at 5:30 pm and paint for an hour and a half, with an intermission to shop, chat, move around... and step away from your painting.
We will spend the remaining hour of the evening finishing your painting.
Wine and appetizers will be available all evening.
This is a great activity for singles or a group of friends.
